Our growing design-build construction company is looking for a Project Engineer Intern. If you are currently in your sophomore or junior year of college and looking for a summer or fall internship based on your school schedule to gain work experience and skills in the construction field, please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications below. The intern will be paired with a company mentor who will provide guidance and support throughout the duration of the internship. The intern will be asked to take on a variety of responsibilities throughout the internship. Wage will be based on experience.
Job Summary:
The Project Engineer’s focus is to assist the Project Management team in planning and supervising a wide range of construction projects from conception through completion. This individual will focus on organizing and overseeing construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. This individual will be required to fully display Alexander & Bebout’s Core Values – Disciplined, Value Reputation, Do the Right Thing, Proud Team Player and Go Get It. This role will focus on organizational skills, strong communication skills, and completion of project within budget and on schedule. People and time management skills are critical attributes for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Project Estimating
- Assist Project Management
- Assist Project Managers with scopes and budgets
- Assist, manage and maintain project schedules
- Assist in communication with in-house personnel, vendors, subcontractors and clients to build relationships and networking
- Assist in the preparation of project documents including contracts, change orders, submittals and pay applications using AIA forms/format
- Assist with coordinating all site safety requirements with field personnel
- Assist with final project review and summary with field personnel and client upon completion

Position Qualifications:
- Currently in school for a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field required or Project Management/Estimating
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
